Memu Live may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
- To manage your Account: to manage your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data you provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to you as a registered user.

To provide full functionality of our app, we request certain permissions from your device. Below is an explanation of what permissions we collect, why we need them, how we obtain them, and how your data is protected.
Purpose: Enables live-streaming and video call features.
How: System pop-up appears when you initiate these features.

- Sending photo in Chats: When you attach an image from your gallery to send in a chat.
- Updating Profile Picture: When you choose an existing photo from your gallery to set as your profile picture.
How: Android 12 & Below, request this permission via a system pop-up window when you first attempt to access a file. Android 13 & Above, due to Android's updated privacy policies, this permission is no longer required.
Purpose: When you take a photo within the app (e.g., for sending photo in a chat), we need this permission to store the file on your device.
How: Android 12 & Below, request this permission to save newly captured photos to your device. The app will request this permission via a system pop-up window when you first attempt to save a file. You can accept or deny the request. Android 13 & Above, due to Android's updated privacy policies, this permission is no longer required.
These permissions are automatically granted upon installation for core functionality:
Purpose: Connects to our servers.
Purpose: Accesses Google Advertising ID for personalized ads. If you wish to disable this permission, you can turn it off from "Personalized Ads" in your device settings.
Purpose: Detects Bluetooth headset connections.
Purpose: Checks Wi-Fi connection status.
Purpose: Monitors network availability, connection status, and connection type. This helps us to prevent data loss or processing delays due to network interruptions.
Purpose: Checks device capability for video calls and tracks active status.
Purpose: Sends promotional and social activity alerts.
We believe that users should be able to tailor their Memu Live experience to their preferences, including privacy. And while local laws may require different things, we believe that our users should have at least the same basic ability to shape their experience no matter where they are in the world. Here’s how you can control how we process your information, how to delete or correct certain information, and how to request access to your information. Users in certain places may have specific rights under their local laws. You can learn more about these in the relevant sections below.
You can choose what communities to participate in and what information you add to our services. You can choose what messages to send or post, what information to include in your profile, whether to connect any third party services to your Memu Live account, and more.
We offer a number of settings that allow you to tailor your experience within Memu Live. You can also access other privacy-specific settings in your User Settings. This is also where you can limit certain types of processing of your information:
- Limit our ability to use your data to improve our services. We offer certain settings that allow you to limit the information we collect to help us understand how users use our services, what features or products they may want, or to otherwise help us improve our business. If you turn off these settings, we will stop collecting and using certain event and log information as described in these settings.
- Limit our ability to personalize Memu Live for you. We offer certain settings that control whether and how we may personalize Memu Live for you, such as offering you relevant recommendations for in-app content and features. If these settings are disabled, we will stop collecting and using certain event and log information as described in these settings.
We generally retain your data for as long as we need it for the performance of our Services and to comply with our legal obligations.
We may keep it to evidence our compliance with applicable Laws and Regulations; there is an outstanding issue, claim or dispute requiring us to keep the relevant information until it is resolved; or the information must be kept for our legitimate business interests. However, even though our systems are designed to carry out data deletion enquiries and processes, we cannot promise that all data will be deleted within a specific time frame due to technical constraints and legitimate reasons.
If you would like to close your account and delete your profile information on Memu Live, log into your Memu Live account and navigate to the account settings to request deletion. Deleting your account permanently deletes identifying information and anonymizes other data. If you delete your account, Memu Live may retain certain information about you for the activities described in this Privacy Policy, or as permitted or required by applicable law.
- You may access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information, or request portability of your personal information.
- If we have collected and process your personal information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
- You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information. We do not allow you to create an account and use Memu Live if you are under 18 years old, and we may monitor compliance with this restriction by scanning a photo of your face to ensure that you are over 18 years old. We may also if there is reasonable doubt, ask you to verify your identity.
If we learn that a child under the age of eighteen has provided us with personal information, we will use reasonable efforts to remove the individual's personal information from our records.
We will update this Privacy Policy from time to time to take into account any technical, economic, regulatory, or legal evolution, or if we change our practices regarding the processing of personal data, especially to comply with any changes in applicable laws and regulations, or if we change our practices regarding the processing of personal data.
